We are saddened by the passing of Prof. Jo Hautvast.

As co-founder and director of the Wageningen Centre for Food Sciences (WCFS) and programme director at the Top Institute Food and Nutrition (TIFN), he played a pivotal role in building long-term public–private partnerships in food and nutrition research.
Through these initiatives, he helped establish collaborative models that brought together universities, industry, and government to advance evidence-based innovation, structures that would later form the foundation of the Next Food Collective.
His contributions to the international nutrition community were widely recognised, most recently with the IUNS Living Legend Award.
