Albertine van Wolfswinkel appointed Programme director ReGeNL and Theme director Sustainable Agriculture at Next Food Collective

Next Food Collective has appointed Albertine van Wolfswinkel as Program Director ReGeNL and Theme director Sustainable Agriculture. She succeeds Wouter‑Jan Schouten and will take over his responsibilities as of 1 April 2026. As Programme Director, her primary focus will be ReGeNL, for which Next Food Collective serves as the coordinating organisation. ReGeNL focuses on scaling regenerative agriculture across the Netherlands. In this role, she will contribute to an agricultural transition that offers farmers real long‑term prospects: a sector in which healthy soils, nature restoration and innovation go hand in hand with food production and a fair and future‑proof business model. In addition, as Theme Director she will contribute to the development of other initiatives within Next Food Collective that support the transition towards a resilient and sustainable food system.

Albertine van Wolfswinkel brings more than twenty years of (international) experience in the food, agriculture and health sectors. She has held senior and C-level positions at Cargill, Nutricia/Danone and Unilever, where she worked on strategies in the areas of sustainability, innovation, stakeholder engagement and system transformation. She has led national and global programmes on food security, regenerative agriculture, health and value chain development, and has extensive experience in building effective public-private partnerships. In addition, she has served in various board roles and played a key part in driving transitions within large international organisations.

Commenting on her appointment, Albertine said: “Next Food Collective brings together a unique group of partners who all share the same ambition: a food system that works for people, nature and the economy. The strength of this collective lies in its ability to look beyond individual perspectives and approach challenges from a system-wide point of view. ReGeNL plays an important role in this, as it shows how practice, science and policy can reinforce one another. I look forward to working with all partners to build solutions that are scalable and truly make a difference for the future of our agriculture.”
