Michiel Meeuse appointed to program lead future proof products at Next Food Collective

Wageningen, 30 June 2025 – Michiel Meeuse has been appointed Program Lead Future Proof Products at Next Food Collective, a collaborative initiative uniting leading companies, research institutes, and civil society organizations to drive innovation for a future-proof food industry.

Meeuse (born 1973) brings over twenty years of experience in R&D, innovation, and business development across the agri-food sector. He previously held various positions at organizations such as Unilever and Agrifirm, where he focused on developing sustainable products and strategies throughout different parts of the value chain.

In his new role at Next Food Collective, Meeuse will be responsible for establishing and leading a widely supported impact program aimed at accelerating the development of future-proof food products. The program will stimulate innovation at the intersection of industry, science, and policy, while fostering collaboration between public and private stakeholders.

“Although many promising initiatives already exist within the agri-food sector, the urgency to accelerate the transition remains high,” Meeuse states. “Breaking through structural innovation barriers requires collaboration across the entire chain. With this program, we aim to actively contribute to scalable, high-impact solutions that support our ultimate goal: a sustainable, healthy, and resilient food system.”
